The 2011 Matsuri in Sydney's theme is "Revive Japan and Thank Australia." Since 11th March this year many Australian people will be no doubt distressed by the images of the Japan earthquake and tsunami. We, the Matsuri Festival Executive Committee, express our heartfelt sympathy for victims who have been forced into evacuation or refuge, and support people in Japan to reconstruct devastated area. Therefore this year's festival theme is "Revive Japan and Thank Australia" which we support reconstruct of Japan and appreciate what Australian people done for Japan.
The Matsuri festival has been organized every year at Darling Harbour in February more than 10 years, however, from this year the Matsuri festival is held in October. The Matsuri festival is a Japanese cultural event promoting cultural exchange amongst Australian and Japanese communities.
